[ STOLT NYK ASIA PACIFIC SERVICES INC. ORDERS A SERIES OF 11,500 DWT CHEMICAL PARCEL TANKERS ]

Stolt NYK Asia Pacific Services Inc. jointly owened by Stolt Parcel Ta
nkers Inc. and NYK Line, has finalised an agreement with Japanese ship
builder Fukuoka Shipbuilding Company Ltd. for the construction of four
stainless steel chemical parcel tankers of 11,500 deadweight tonnes (
dwt) each. The first is scheduled for delivery in September 1997 while
the remaining three are due for handover in February, July and Octobe
r 1998.
The new tankers will have a length of 117.20 metres, a breadth of 20.0
0 metres and a draft of 8.75 metres. Each ship will have 20 stainless
steel tanks and a total cargo-carrying capacity of 12,500 ㎡. Each car
go tank will be served by an independent pump and line.
