The first vessel for CJ Korea Express takes a maiden voyage

CJ KOREX's " KOREX SPB No.1 "

CJ Korea Express (KOREX CEO Lee Hyeon Woo) finally has its own ship with 'CJ KOREX' flag.

CJ KOREX announced the new 15,000-ton class vessel named "KOREX SPB No.1" made its first voyage starting from Ulsan Port on June 14th.

The vessel was loaded with about 5,000 tonnes of equipment for petrochemical plants. The journey will go on one month heading to Das Island in UAE.

"KOREX SPB No.1" is a special ship for heavy cargo with two 4,500-hp engines, making 13 knots. The scale is equal to an international standard soccer stadium 152 m long x 40 m wide.

As the company has started to operate its own vessel, KOREX expects to strengthen in global heavy cargo transport. Mr. Lee, the CEO of KOREX, said, "This launching will be a cornerstone for KOREX's aim to become a global top 5 logistic business by 2020. We'll expend our business area globally to not only overland and air, but also sea with our 80-year knowhow."
