China Shipping will Call Directly at the Port of Kwangyang
China Shipping Container Line's mother ship will call directly at the
Port of Kwangyang on June 27, serving the new American route to connec
t North China. It has served South China as the starting point on an A
merican route.
This company is going to utilize six 2,000 TEU vessels, but will excha
nge these for 5,600 TEU new building vessels gradually, depending on t
he container cargoes. The ports of call are Qingdao, Sanghai, Hakada,
Kwangyang, Los Angeles, Oakland, Yokohama and Lianyungang. Transit tim
e will take 10 days from Kwangyang to Los Angeles and 12 days to Oakla
nd.
Cargoes from cities in North China like Dalian and Xingang will be tra
nshipped at Kwangyang. Local cargoes to the U.S will be available for
loading, if possible.
This company will use the terminal of the Korea Express Co., in the po
rt of Kwangyang and Korea Express Co. will take charge of stevedoring.
