Canmar Restructures Management in North America
Canada Maritime has restructured its North American senior management
team in Montreal.
Peter Heller has been named Vice President, North Atlantic Service, re
placing Jeremy Lee, who has taken a position with Canmar's parent, CP
Ships. At the same time, Mr Heller retains overall responsibility for
Agri Products. He joined CP Ships in 1973 and has held various positio
ns within Canmar including Sales Representative; Pricing Manager; Gene
ral Manager, Mediterranean Service, when it began; and, ultimately Vic
e President, Mediterranean Service in 1995. Tony Boemi succeeds Peter
Heller as Vice President, Mediterranean Service, having previously ser
ved as Regional Director, Quebec. He has worked for the CP Ships Group
since 1975. Daniel Belisle has been appointed Vice President, Marketi
ng and Development, moving on from his previous role as VP Finance Nor
th America. After joining CP Ships in 1979, he was promoted to a senio
r position at Racine Terminal and joined Canmar in 1995.
Carlo Plescia is the new Regional Director, Quebec Sales. He served pr
eviously as General Manager, Northern Services. Prior to that he was G
eneral Manager, Med Services. He joined Canmar in 1988 and has held ar
ious positions in sales and operations, with both the Northern and Med
iterranean services. Also, Dave Bauman has joined Canmar as VP, Agenci
es based in Montreal. Previously he was President of the N.A. organisa
tion of CCAL, which was acquired recently by CP Ships. Canada Maritime
Agencies represents CCAL' s services in Canada. Mr Bauman began his t
ransportation career in 1971 with a Canadian trucking company and also
worked for the shipping agency Kerr Steamships, as well as Sea-Land S
ervice.
