Andreas Mueller appointed TT Underwriting and Sales Director - Asia Pacific

Andreas Mueller has been appointed the TT Club's Underwriting and Sales Director for Asia Pacific. His appointment, which is effective as of 1st July 2001, means he will hand his European responsibilities over to David Lumby and Simon Schnorr whilst progressively taking over his new role. Working from the TT Club's regional office in Hong Kong, Mr Mueller will be responsible for underwriting throughout the whole of Asia. Mr Mueller is well known in the Asia-Pacific region having held the role of Senior Underwriter for Korean and Taiwanese markets for ten years.

Paul Neagle, Chief Executive of the TT Club, comments:

"We expect that there will be continued and substantial business growth in the Asia Pacific region and Andreas' appointment, in addition to the need to increase regional management resources, is a reflection of that. Andreas takes with him a huge amount of experience in the Asian insurance sector: having this knowledge on hand, and a senior underwriter in situ, will be of great benefit to the team already working in the Hong Kong regional office."

As a qualified shipbroker, Andreas Mueller has worked extensively in the maritime industry in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. He joined Thomas Miller and Co in 1987 as an underwriter for the TT Club. Working in the Korean and Taiwanese markets Mr Mueller helped build the market from just three members to what now constitutes 25% of the TT Club's Asia-Pacific membership.

Andreas Mueller joins Colin Lewin who remains the TT Club's regional manager and local managing director responsible for all aspects of service in Hong Kong and throughout the whole of Asia.
