Camellia launches Pusan/Moji container service
Camellia Line, a passenger ferry liner between Korea and Japan will start a Pusan / Moji container service starting May 23 after Jangyoung Shipping discontinued it. According to industry sources, Camellia Line will serve three times a week in Pusan, Hakata, Moji and Pusan, deploying one 455 TEU vessel.
Meanwhile, Chunkyoung Line, a co-operating partner in this route, will keep its currently existing service by adding new vessels. Dongjin shipping is also planning to launch a shuttle service in Pusan and Moji. All of these services have assumed very serious proportions, causing worries about vessel oversupply and rates dumping.
Camellia Line will put the 'Eponyma', a 455 TEU container vessel with 70 reefer container pluges. The Eponyma will call at Pusan, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Camellia Line will strengthen its Pusan / Hakata service from three times weekly to six, creating a daily service system.
Camellia Line is operating its container service two times a week in Pusan / Hiroshima / Tokuyama with one 326 TEU container vessel.
