Pusan Shipping Co., one of the leading liner shipping companies trading
on the Korean and Japan route, is confronted by dangerous situation
stemming from the company’s poor management and ageing vessels.
According to the sources, they have been suffering from insufficient
operating funds and inefficient management.
Furthermore, the average age of their owned/operated vessels has become
older than 30 year. As a result, they cannot afford to fend off such
burdens coming from vessels’enormous operating cost.
In the mean time, they have recently inagurated a new weekly container
service linking Tomakomai, a thriving port city in Japan’s northern-
most main island of Hokkaido, with three ports in Taiwan.
