Applications for Inchon and Nampo trade continue
Over-competition for many shipping companies applying for Inchon and Nampo trade recently gave birth to many worries.
Inchon Regional Maritime Affairs and Fisheries unveiled on February 5 that On & Off Corp., a cargo transportation shipping firm, registered as a coastal transportation business to launch trade between Inchon and Nampo. The company plans to carry inter-Korean business cooperation cargoes three times a month, using the 3,240 TEU 'Hulongchen', which belongs to a Chinese carrier.
Inchon Regional Maritime Affairs and Fisheries will permit this company to do its business through counseling with the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries if there are no other faults.
If On & Off Corp., were admitted to this trade, it would add one more company to the already existing 5 shipping firms listed to participate in Inchon and Nampo trade, Kukyang Shipping Corp., Green Logistics, Oram Shipping, Changmyoung Shipping, and Ramses Logistics.
An official at Inchon Regional Maritime Affairs and Fisheries said that if there were no mistakes in On & Off's documents, they would have to give them permission for coastal cargo transportation.
