International Symposium on Liner Shipping VII held in Hamburg in September International Symposium o
Holding the International Symposium on Liner Shipping from 10-12 September in Hamburg will represent one of the highlights of the activities of the Port of Hamburg Association in the year 2001. As on the last occasion in 1997, around 250 participants are expected from all over the world. Held every four years, the symposium is taking place in Hamburg for the fourth time.
Dr. Hans Ludwig Beth, chairman of the association, is responsible for organizing the event. Co-organisers are international shipping institutes from Bremen, Gdansk, New York and Seoul along with Lloyd's of London and the World Maritime University of the United Nations. Acting as patrons of the event are the Federal minister of transport, the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce and the Port of Hamburg Marketing Association.
The programme for the event will supply and demand trends on the market, but also aspects of shipping policy as well as the subject of the port and its hinterland traffic links, and will be available shortly in printed form.
