Pusan eager attract new cruise ships
Pusan is trying to lure new passenger ferries after newly renovating the Dadaepo cruise ship terminal, which has recently suffered from cruise ships stopping operations one by one.
Pusan and the Saha Gu-office completed a gangway, 23 meters long, and 3 meters in width and height, to connect the passenger terminal with the cruise wharf, with an investment of 400 million won. They are also reshuffling to make small parks and to establish guide boards around the Dadaepo harbor, the Pusan office revealed on June 13.
Even though three cruise ships used to call at Dadaepo harbor until early this year, the Superstar Ares abandoned its calling and Poongak, a cruise ship to Mt. Kumgang, followed suit.
Thereafter, Pusan requested a Malaysian cruise company, Star Cruise, to call at Dadaepo harbor. It also plans to send bulletins to 35 irregular passenger ferry companies to introduce the Port of Pusan and passenger ferry facilities, and to participate in the Global Cruise Exhibition to be held in Miami in an attempt to attract new cruise ship companies.
