Express container trains between Pusan and Uiwang
The Korean National Railroad is slated to launch express container trains starting from June 20.
The Korean National Railroad announced on June 14 that it will make express container cargo trains available for urgent cargoes cleared at the Port of Pusan. Through this train, shippers can receive cargoes within one day. In addition, by the whole process of application and receipt being handled by EDI (Electronic Documents Interchange), railroad logistic information systems will be afforded convenient access and shippers can trace cargoes through the whole process on the Internet in real time.
Trains will depart from Pusan-jin station every day at 10 pm and arrive in Uiwang at 5 am the next morning. Trains will also leave for Pusan-jin around 9 o'clock in the morning and arrive at 4 o'clock in the afternoon.
This new train service is expected to greatly strengthen logistic and energy savings efforts.
