Sinokor puts vessel in Pyoungtaek / Dalian
Sinokor Merchant Marine launched a new container service between Pyoungtaek / Dalian from September 14. The company already has regular container services bound for Qingdao and Tianjin starting from Pyoungtaek.
This new service adds Dalian to an existing service, Pyoungtaek / Tianjin trade, deploying the 430 TEU 'Trade Rank', which is larger than the one already operating in this route, the 210 TEU, 'Xiang Qiang'. Sinokor Merchant Marine planned this port addition with the intention of kicking off a new Pyoungtaek / Dalian direct service sometime later.
Kyounggi province and Inchon Regional Maritime Affairs and Fisheries held a joint opening ceremony for the Pyoungtaek western harbor completion as well as the Pyoungtaek / Dalian trade launch together on September 14.
Sinokor Merchant Marine started its first regular container service for Hong Kong directly from the Port of Pyoungtaek, October 27. Their Qingdao service was launched on November 8, 2000 with their Tianjin direct service being launched five months later on April 10, 2001.
Amongst them, the Hong Kong service was halted on February 22 in the middle of unfavorable conditions as it failed to secure cargoes during 4 months of business. However, they are now considering a new Pyoungtaek / Southeast Asia service via Hong Kong.
