Merging AEI Maruzen and Danzas KK in Japan

Danzas announced that it has signed an agreement with Maruzen Showa Unyu to create a new joint venture company in Japan to be formed through the merger of AEI Maruzen and Danzas KK.
The agreement with Maruzen Showa provides for the integration of Danzas’ 100% owned subsidiary in Japan, Danzas KK, with AEI Maruzen, the 30 year old joint venture between Maruzen Showa and the former Air Express International Corporation. AEI became part of the Danzas Group logistics division of Deutsche Port World Net last year.
The combined company, which will be owned 70% by Danzas and 30% by Maruzen Showa Unyu, will be called Danzas Maruzen KK.
The integration of AEI Maruzen and Danzas KK will combine AEI Maruzen’s strong position in international air cargo with Danza’s extensive international air and ocean freight operation to create one of the leading logistics companies in Japan.
The merger will mark another important step in the integration of Danzas Intercontinental and AEI and further strengthen Danzas’s logistics platform in Asia.
