Adding regular staff to 34
Pyongtaek Regional Maritime Affaires & Fisheries Office announced on September 4 that added 34 people to its regular staff for a total of 84 with approval from MOMAF (Ministry of Maritime Affaires & Fisheries), the Ministry of Government Affairs and Home Affairs, and the Ministry of Planning and Budget.
The office started with 15 employees from Incheon Regional Maritime Affaires & Fisheries Office and 7 employees from outside in July, 2003.
One insider from the office said, "Although the regular staff increased to 84, full-time members are only 62," and added, "We added staff to help bring the number closer to the 100~150 of small offices such as Pohang, Mokpo and Jeju Island, which we'll need to develop as a multipurpose port in Northeast Asia."
