Rickmers-Linie appoints Korea Maritime as new agent in Korea

Rickmers-Linie GmbH & Cie. KG, the German based global breakbulk, heavy lift and project cargo specialist, has appointed Korea Maritime Co.,Ltd., Seoul as its new agent in South Korea effective 18 September 2006.

Rickmers-Linie and Seabridge Korea Ltd., Seoul, have mutually agreed to terminate the existing agency agreement effective 17 September. As of 18 September, all Rickmers-Linie activities South Korea will be handled by Korea Maritime with the first vessel being the MV 'Rickmers New Orleans' scheduled to arrive in Masan on 21 September.

Korea Maritime is headed by President & CEO Mr. S. W. Lee and was founded in 1960. The company is part of the reputed Sebang Group, Seoul, which has diversified into logistics and maritime businesses.

Mr. Seo, representative of Rickmers-Linie in Korea, will relocate to the premises of Korea Maritime. This will ensure a seamless continuity in daily business for the customers of Rickmers in Korea. In 2003, the company underlined the significance of the Korean market by naming one of its Superflex Heavy MPC vessels ?ickmers Seoul?
