[ ACF98 Responds to Air Cargo Industry...Demand for Focus ]

Three days of sharp focus by representative experts on the major issue
s and opportunities facing the air cargo industry will highlight the 1
9th International Air Cargo Forum and Exposition(ACF98) in Paris next
spring.
ACF98, with “Air Cargo 1998:The Key to Global Logistics,” as the the
me, will be held May 3-6, 1998, in Paris at Le Palais des Congres.
Opening day sessions will begin with David A. Tarr, president of the C
ouncil of Logistics Management, on “The Driving Force,”an analysis o
f the impact of logistics on world trade. Gail Blauer-Jones, vice pre
sident of UNISYS, sponsors of the most authoritative service study, wi
ll lead a discussion on “Changing a Culture.”
Brown Wilder, president and CEO of Air Cargo, Inc., will lead a discus
sion on security, and Brian Clancy, president of MergeGlobal, will be
the closing speaker with his visionary look at “Toward 2000.”
The third day of the Forum will repeat the highly popular Shippers Day
launched in Dubai in 1996.
Peter Gatti, of the National Industrial Transportation League will lea
d a representative group of North American Shippers and a delegation o
f European shippers wil be lead by Chris Welsh.
The Air Cargo Industry reaction to the shipper presentation will featu
re industry leaders in “The Industry Responds”.
On Day 2 - Focus sessions, designed for dialogue and debate will be bu
ilt around such subjects as Airports, emerging markets, intermodal and
equipment.
This year, TIACA officials are taking a new approach to the scheduling
and programming that will greatly improve ACF98. For example, the Fo
rum content will be reduced from 22-23 hours of programming to 18 hour
s. This will provide more time for participants to network, view the
exhibits and do business together. The floor plan at Le Palais des Co
ngres, one of the most modern conference facilities in the world, faci
litates traffic flow and interaction between Forum attendees and Expos
ition exhibitors. Events in the Expostion Hall will be convenient to
Forum partcipants in meeting rooms close by.
