DSME Hits High with Drill Ship Order

DSME recently acquired 2 new orders for ships: one drill ship, and one suezmax class COT for a European owner.

This represents a noteworthy 740 million USD in combined orders.

The agreements with the two clients call for DSME to deliver the vessels by the end of 2010.

The drill ship will be built using DSME's own design, and DSME will also provide procurement, construction and test & sea trial services for the ultra-deepwater features.

DSME may have won the project owing to its outstanding project performance and capabilities, which have been well proven by its marvellous successes in a series of previous offshore projects,?a DSME official said.

With this order, including offshore plants, DSME has reached 15.2 billion USD or 90% of this year target sales amount of 17 billion USD.<Korea Shipping Gazette>
