Hanjin Shipping launches Malta-Adriatic feeder service
Hanjin Shipping launched its new MAF (Malta-Adriatic Feeder) service effective from June 19th, 2008.
The new MAF service is a dedicated feeder service with one 1,000 TEU class vessel connecting Malta, Koper and Venice on a weekly basis.
Hanjin Shipping revealed that Malta will be added in the current MAP (Mediterranean-Asia-America Pendulum) and MEX (Mediterranean Express) services to connect with the new MAF. These services continue to expand Hanjin? presence in the Adriatic.
Hanjin Shipping expects the launch of this new dedicated service to help secure business from rising demand in the Mediterranean as well as extend the scope of its services in nearby regions including Hungary, Slovakia, southern Germany and Austria.
As Hanjin Shipping continues to grow in the Mediterranean, it is also developing a dedicated terminal in Algeciras, Spain and plans on developing a larger feeder network in Europe.<Korea Shipping Gazette>
