[ Hanjin Shipping Awarded ‘98 Carrier of the Year’ ]

Hanjin Shipping Co., was presented with the ‘1998 Carrier Performance
Commitment Award’ by Payless Shoesource. Inc., the Kansas based glob
al retailer and one of the most respected names in the footwear indust
ry.
Presented annually, this year Payless Shoesource.Inc., held the ceremo
ny at the Shenzhen Sunshine Hotel to show its appreciation for HJS’s
dedication and commitment to providing total customer satisfaction. Th
e award was presented by Payless’s Home Office Management, Mr. Joseph
Neal, Vice President of Physical Distribution together with Mr. Scott
Larson, Director of Int’l Transportation, and Mr. David Lee, Manager
of Int’l Transportation, and was well received by Mr. K. Hur, Hanjin
’s Regional Manager of Hong Kong & South China. Mr. Hur says he is de
lighted that Hanjin has been accredited with this prestigious award.
“The scope of the award is in recognition of the high level of custom
er service, such as vessel schedule, space protect, equipment supply,
documentation and good cooperation.”
Hanjin’s was named the Carrier of the Year award in 1995 from Payless
Shoesource and most recently, the company received the 1998 Vendor of
the Year Award by BDP International, Inc., the Philadelphia-based glo
bal logistics and transportation company.
