[ Hanjin Shipping Celebrates 20 Years at ECT ]

March 19th, 1999 marked the twentieth anniversary of the relationship
between ECT and Hanjin Shipping. To mark this occasion the direct of H
anjin’s European head office(based in Hamburg), Mr. C.H. Won, visited
Rotterdam. During his visit, Mr. won met with the management of ECT a
nd the management of the Rotterdam Municipai Port.
Hanjin Shipping can look back on 20 years of growth with ECT when the
Company first entered into a contract in 1979. Since then, Hanjin’s v
olume at ECT in 1998 amounted to 450,000TEUs with an average increase
of 20% per year over the last five years.
With Hanjin leading the United Alliance together with DSR-Senator, Cho
Yang, and UASC, ECT functions as a main hub in Europe offering four s
ailings per week to the East and Middle East and one to North America.
