HHI christens 6th vessel for Greek Livanosith

Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd (HHI) held a naming ceremony for the 6th 73,000 cubic meter oil tanker ordered from the Greek Sun Enterprises Ltd., on April 4, 2001.

More commonly known as the Livanosith Group, Sun Enterprises was the first customer to give an order to HHI when HHI was not even equipped with factory facilities to build vessels at the time. This company has been doing business with HHI for 30 years since the late Chung Joo-Young first took ship building orders from them, and has been delivered a total of six vessels from HHI.

In the mean time, Mr. Choi Gilsun, the president of HHI, and Mr. C. Prapopulos, the president of Marocean Brokers, a financing company of the Livanosith Group, as well as around 40 representatives attended the ceremony where the vessel was christened the Amazon Gladiator.
