P&O Nedlloyd to develop new trunk-line service from Asia to South Amer
P&O Nedlloyd is to re-tonngae its existing services from Asia to the E
ast Coast South America with new vessels which will be phased in by en
d April 2001. This will allow P&O Nedlloyd to develop a fast trunk-lin
e service which will operate between Asian Ports and Brazil,Argentina,
Uruguay and Paraguay. The service network will also extend to South Af
rica, offering fixed day weekly calls in Port Elizabeth westbound and
Durban eastbound.
As a consequence, P&O Nedlloyd is to withdraw from the SAFARI consorti
um and therefore end its vessel provision in the Asia-South Africa SAF
ARI service. This will take effect on 30 March 2001.
Remi Speld, Director of P&O Nedlloyd Asia commented, ?ith this produc
