[ P&O Containers to launch a new service in their Europe/Far East T

P&O Containers is to make direct weekly East and Westbound calls at Malta
in their Europe/Far East service starting from late July.
From Malta a dedicated feeder service will connect to the Italian ports
of Genoa, Naples and Livomo providing a fast, regular and reliable ser-
vice between the Far East and these ports.
This new service is one of serveral changes in a rescheduling programme
intended to improve P&O Containers’ market coverage on their Europe
/Far East service,
The key schdule changes are; ▲Italy - direct Malta call and dedicated
feeder service to key Italian ports. In addition Malta can be used as
a stepping stone for cargo moving to and from the Eastern Mediterranean.
▲Jeddah - direct Westbound calls at Jeddah on route to Europe from the
Far East will be reintroduced in July enabling P&O to once again offer
this service on their own vessels to exporters in the Far East.
▲China - direct call at Yantian, close to Hong Kong. In addition P&O
Containers have already announced their intention to start calling at
Shekou Container Teminal (now partly owned by P&O) in China, once the
night navigational requrements of this port have been resolved.
▲Zeebrugge - P&O Container’s direct call in Belgium will be switched
from Antwerp to Zeebrugge.
