Importers can Declare Goods in the Nearest Customs Office

Korea Customs Service act regarding the declaration system on arrival
will change as of May 1, so the importers can declare customs bonded t
ransportation in the nearest customs office.
Until now, the importer has had to go to the customs office at the por
t of entry to declare the customs bonded transportation. It forced the
importers to transfer the bonded declarations and works to bonded for
warding agents, to avoid complicated procedures.
In this system, however, importers can declare bonded transportation
in the nearest customs office and transport cargo by themselves as qu
ickly as it comes into port without the help of bonded forwarding agen
ts. Korea Customs Service is expected to save about 116.5 billion won
on logistics expenditures, through this change
