Dongchun Ferry goes bankrupt and Asiana takes over
Dongchun Ferry Co., Ltd, which was highlighted in the Mt. Paekdu trade, connecting Sokcho, Jarubino and Hunchun, went bankrupt October 25th and maybe taken over by Asiana Co., Ltd, one of its main creditors.
Dongchun Ferry has suffered from financial difficulties, not being able to pay expenses on time since it launched the trade last April. It couldn't meet 160 million won worth of bills to Hyundai Mipo Dockyard October 25th and filed for bankruptcy.
'Dongchun', a Car Ferry in the Paekdu trade, could accommodate 467 passengers, but recently only serviced between 130 and 140, in comparison to the summer season, accelerating financial difficulties.
