Yangsan ICD enjoys record high cargoes
Yangsan ICD enjoyed record high cargoes this August, 92,720 TEU.
Yangsan ICD reported that it has handled 46,767 TEU of inbound cargoes and 45,953 TEU of outbound cargoes, 92,720 TEU in total, and posted a 36.9% increase over last year's 67,722 TEU.
Total container cargoes handled up to August came to 694,192 TEU, 351,816 TEU from inbound cargoes and 342,376 TEU from outbound, putting the 1 million TEU goal for this year well within reach.
An official at Yangsan ICD revealed that container cargo increases were attributed to transit cargo increases of 40% over last year.
Container Freight Station cargoes, however, have been on the decline since March, recording 64,826 r/t for August, around a 2.6% decrease over the previous month. Containers decreased by 3.7% over a month ago to 5,748 TEU.
Meanwhile, container cargoes until August increased in Yangsan ICD, though most of them are empty. Inbound full containers amounted to 88,828 TEU and empty containers reached 262,988 TEU. Outbound cargoes also showed 90,481 TEU of full container cargoes and 251,895 TEU of empty containers, showing a full container to empty container ratio of 3 to 8.
Both export and import cargoes have decreased under the pressure of the sluggish domestic and global economies.
