Union-Transport is Named Global Logistics Provider for the De La Rue G
roup in the United Kingdom

Union-Transport Group(U-T), one of the world’s leading air and ocean

e-year contract as the logistics provider for the global freight of th
e De La Rue Group, it was announced today bv Peter Thorrington, U-T ch
ief executive for Europe and John Hextall, U-T managing director for t
he United Kingdom.
Based in the United Kingdom, De La Rue is the world’s largest commerc
ial security printer and paper maker, involved in the production of ov
er 150 national currencies and a wide range of security documents such
as stamps and vouchers as well as brand protection. The company is al
so a leading provider of cash handling equipment and solutions to ban
ks and retailers as well as a range of identity systems to commerce an
d governments worldwide. De La Rue also acts as a strategic partner an
d adviser to customers offering them total solutions in areas of activ
ity that capitalize on De La Rue’s reputation for security, integrity
and trust.
Union-Transport’s initial contract involves airfreight sites in the U
K, Seden and USA and will ultimately be extended to cover France, Ital
y, Singapore, Malta, Kenya and Sri Lanka.
The De La Rue Group ships more than 32 million kilograms of freight fr
om the UK, USA and Sweden to and from over 100 countries worldwide. Th
ese products include a variety of financial printing materials.
De La Rue Group employs a full range of U-T’s value-added supply chai
n management services, including integrated global and domestic inform
ation sysytems, improt and export shipments, packaging and warehousing
, as well as traditional forwarding and clearances of financial printi
ng products.
