OOCL recognized for environmental excellence

OOCL recently received the Gold Award, under the Sectoral Awards category (Transport and Logistics), of the 2012 Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (HKAEE), at a ceremony held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The HKAEE is recognized by the community as one of the most prestigious and reputable environmental award schemes in Hong Kong. It encourages businesses and organizations to embrace green management and innovation and offering the opportunity to benchmark their environmental performance.

In this year? fifth annual award, 776 applicants competed in 11 industry sectors. In considering OOCL for the gold standing, the award recognizes a company? commitment and drive to achieving environmental objectives through the entire organization.

This includes initiatives taken to sustain progressive environmental improvements and working with partner organizations to establish synergies to adopting greener business models and operations. < Korea Shipping Gazette >
