HMM announces rate increases
HMM (Hyundai Merchant Marine) announced rate increases.
The HMM general rate increases affect all cargo from Asia to North America and went into effect on December 20th, 2013. The rate is US$ 400 per FEU.
Also, GRI will be implemented on all cargo from Asia to Europe. This went into effect on December 16th, 2013. The rate is US$ 1100 per FEU.
GRI will also be put into effect next year. On January 15th 2014, GRI will be implemented in Asia to North America trades. The rate is US$ 200 per FEU. From Asia to Europe will be US$ 1600 per FEU.
HMM said, “Before the holidays, the quantity of goods transported increased. So the General Rate Increase is expected to do well.”
