Agility wins award for local community contribution in UK

Agility, a global logistics provider, has been recognized by the Chemical Business Association (CBA) in the United Kingdom for its local community project to educate school-aged children about chemicals and their dangers in the home. Agility뭩 Chemical Logistics headquartered in the UK received the CBA's annual Community Interaction Award.

Agility won the award for its 'Chemical Safety at Home?science initiative delivered to 250 high school students in 2013. The initiative was based on a 40-minute presentation that underlined the significance of chemicals to modern society by giving the students an awareness of the various chemicals that are relied upon daily in the community and their place in the home. The program also educated the students how to identify the chemicals by sight and to understand their purpose, as well as teaching them about the risks associated with certain chemicals.

"Agility is proud of the contribution made to educate young people about the dangers associated with chemicals found in the home, while at the same time complementing the science curriculum and promoting careers in the chemical industry."

Each year, the CBA selects four winners from more than 100 member chemical companies for its Responsible Care and Community Interaction Awards. Agility was shortlisted in both awards in its first year of participation. The honors are presented at the annual CBA awards dinner, the largest event annually for the chemical supply chain sector, held in London, UK.
