Evergreen Announces Enhancements to its Far East - North America Services
Evergreen announced that it will call at New York, Norfolk and Savanna
h with its new AUE all-water service between ports in Asia and the Atl
antic Coast of North America. In addition, the carrier will phase out
its service between Japan, Korea and the US West Coast (KJW) over the
next six weeks with most ports of call to be covered by other Evergree
n vessel routings.
The AUE service will eventually utilise six L-type vessels of 1,810 TE
U capacity and three G-types of 2,728TEU capacity, each on a 63-day ro
und trip voyage. Vessel rotation will be HongKong, Kaohsiung, Colon (P
anama),New York (Port Elizabeth, NJ), Norfolk, Savannah, Colon, HongKo
ng. The first sailing, Ever Living, will depart HongKong on 18 June, 2
000.
The KJW service, which has been using the L-type ships, will transfer
the vessels to the AUE service as they arrive in Asia from the US West
Coast. The KJW service called at Hakata,Pusan, Yokkaichi, Shimizu, To
kyo, Los Angeles, Portland, Hakata. Calls at Shimizu and Pusan will no
w be covered by the Round - the - World Eastbound service, which will
drop its call at Rotterdam for improved transit times.
