KCTA closes Seoul branch and streamlines
The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries disclosed on Feb. 21 that it will partially carry out the reorganization of the Korea Container Terminal Authority (KCTA) effective 1 March, 2001.
The purpose of this reorganization is to promote the authority as the main body responsible for building a Northeast Asia logistic center. The current 7 bureau and 2 branch system will change in favor of an 8 bureau and single branch system, abolishing the Seoul branch (eliminating 7 jobs) and introducing a business strategy bureau (creating another 4 jobs).
It will also try to recruit from outside for 5 positions such as general manager, chief of business strategy, chief of port logistics, and business strategy staff, and introduce tests for promotions.
