Hanjin revamps PNX-1 and CAX services
Hanjin Shipping intends to prop up its competitiveness by reshuffling its PNX-1 (Pacific Northwest Express) and CAX (China America Express) services. It will change the port of call to Tokyo from Yokohama in PNX-1, and shorten the sailing voyage by a day in its CAX service.
Hanjin tried to call at Tokyo instead of Yokohama to contribute Tokyo dedicated terminal budgets and profitability to improve, starting from early April. It also hoped to help Korean shippers' competitiveness in North America bound trade by cutting one day from its CAX service between Pusan and Long Beach, sailing for 9 days instead of 10, and from Shanghai to Long Beach, shortening it to 12 days from 13 days, beginning the end of February.
According to these changes, The PNX-1 service will call at Singapore-Hong Kong-Tokyo-Osaka-Hong Kong, and CAX services departing Pusan every Saturday will arrive in Long Beach every Monday instead of every Tuesday.
Hanjin Shipping has called at Yokohama to keep the schedule on time even though it has its own terminal in Tokyo.
