Dongnama Line achieves 248.2 billion won in sales last year
Dongnama Line kept the balance in the black three years in a row, with 248.2 billion won in sales and 3.5 billion won in net income last year. It also slated to concentrate on searching for new markets in Asia and push for profit oriented management, the shipping firm revealed in its 17th shareholder meeting on March 30.
President, Lee SungHyun said in the opening greeting, "we recorded these remarkable results, being in the black three consecutive years, even in fair competitive Intra-Asian trade and worsening profitability conditions through high oil prices and unstable exchange rates. Our company achieved these results through our unified labor, international competitiveness improvements, raw costs savings company-wide, and sales efforts thoroughly based on profitability. Creative changes and innovation will lead us to be a leading international logistic business group in the future. And aiming to sell 290 billion won this year, we will enlarge sales and profitability searches for Southwest Asia, knowledge management settle through organizational restructuring, and work power raising.
Meanwhile, Dongnama Line is under way to push into Southwest Asia, including India, through strategic alliances with well known global shipping lines, enlarge their service areas in South China and Japan. They will also pursue four dominant port development projects in China, strategizing that it will strengthen competitiveness for them in Southeast Asian markets and establish profitable foundations in future markets.
