“Port of Inchon Vision 21” final project proposed
'Port of Inchon Vision 21', a research project to guide the present and future of the Port of Inchon was presented in Inchon Regional Maritime Affairs and Fisheries on May 14.
'Port of Inchon Vision 21' is the first research project synergizing both federal government and local government plans. Its origin comes from 'Ocean Korea 21', a national maritime development plan. It is being managed by the Port of Inchon development council. This project mainly intends to provide practical plans for the development of the Port of Inchon, such as the Inchon northern and southern harbor development projects, international passenger-ferry terminal construction, and sluice management.
Some participants criticized the plan saying that it failed to escape from basic structures of Metropolitan port rearrangement plans and new city development plans prepared by Inchon, Inchon Regional Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, and the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries.
'Port of Inchon Vision 21' pushed the seven main sectors including maritime logistics and port development, and included 37 detailed plans over 11 months starting from last June with 127 million won.
