Automobiles export through Mokpo

Vehicles, now, are being exported through the Port of Mokpo, South Cholla Province.

According to Mokpo Regional Maritime Affairs and Fisheries on March 29, Kia Motors immediatelylaunched shipping for South American bound Kwangju made export vehicles through Taebul harbor in the Port of Mokpo.

An official at the regional ministry said, "Kia vehicles, made in Kwangju and loaded in Kunsan are being exported through Mokpo to save land logistic costs. This is a major stepping stone for the Port of to join the ranks of the international ports."

It was expected that this move by Kia Motors would help the Mokpo regional economy, exporting 30,000 units through Mokpo annually and contributing over 1 billion won, including stevedoring in Mokpo.
