PECT Reached 10 million teus of Cargo

The Pusan East Container Terminal (PECT) had handled 10 million teus o
f container cargoes by April 28. Since it opened 8 years and 10 months
ago, it holds the record for the shortest period of handling 10 milli
on teus of cargo from domestic container terminals. It also has the re
cord for handling the most cargoes for a single ship. 10 million teus
is equivalent to a length of 60 thousand kilometers.
When 'PON JAKARTA' which is a P&O Nedlloyd' ship, a member of the Ne
w Grand Alliance, came and loaded, the port reached to the total of 10
million teus of cargo.
The Port of Pusan handled 85% of total container cargoes in South Kore
a and was ranked 4 in the world, dealing with 6,428,000 teus of cargo.
Of those, PECT handled 1,200,000 teus, a 20% share.
