Transhipment Cargoes Swarm into the Port of Kwangyang in April

Container cargoes in Kwangyang container terminal have been on the inc
rease since March this year. According to the port trade division in
Kwangyang city, container cargoes hit 44,441 teus in January, 46,452
teus in February and 54,987 teus in March. Coming into April, there wa
s a slight decrease to 53,828 teus.
Transhipment cargoes amounted to 1,651 teus in January, 3,314 teus in
February , 4,950 teus in March and 7,095 teus in April.
Meanwhile, the Korean Express terminal had handled 73,416 teus by Apri
l, the largest amount coming from container cargoes. The Hyundai Merch
ant Marine terminal handled 50,525 teus, Hanjin Shipping terminal 36,1
49 teus and Sebang terminal 28,000 teus, respectively.
The Korean Express Terminal handled 10,523 teus in transhipment cargoe
s, while Hanjin terminal and Hyundai Merchant Marine Terminal handled
1,573 teus and 140 teus respectively.
