Sky Alliance brings Czech Airlines into the fold

Sky Team, an Airline alliance with Korean Air, Delta Air, Air France,
and Aero Mexico, permitted Czech Air to join, bringing the number of m
embers in the alliance to 5.
Four member Airlines and Czech Airlines announced the new Sky Team all
iance member October 18th, after having an accord ceremony in the City
Congress building in Prague, in the Czech Republic. Accordingly, Czec
h Airlines will play as a regular member from April 2001, after being
equipped with the basic common service system.
Sky Team is an airline alliance to strengthen customer service with a
few regional representative airliners. Sky Team is regionally set up w
ith Korean Air (Seoul) in Asia, Air France (Paris) for Western Europe,
Delta Air (Atlanta) for North America, and Aero Mexico (Mexico City)
for Central and South America. By reinforcing itself with Czech Airlin
es, based in Central and Eastern Europe, Sky team will be able to prov
ide a stronger worldwide schedule.
