SOC budget for port development settled
Port facility investment budget in 2001 made up 1.02 trillion won, 6.9 % out of total SOC investment capital 14.73 trillion won, occupying same portion a year earlier.
This year budget increased 4.7% to 1.02 trillion won over last year's budget 973.9 billion won. It was scheduled to supply 388.9 billion won to New port development project, 6.2% up comparing last year's. Also 213.4 billion won invested to Pusan new port built-in plan and Port of Kwangyang for main logistic port in Northeast Asia as container-dedicated ports. 175.5 billion won in main areas' new port development and 351.9 billion won in port facilities acquisition projects. Port facility sustaining and repairing business would use 120 billion won. It was planned to prevent secure accidents and damage expansions by the weather changes and to prolong durability period.
