CK Line expands service in Japan
Chun Kyung Line is aggressively expanding their full container services in Japan for early July.
It will start new services bound for Toyohashi / Yokkaichi / Shimizu / Chiba / Hiroshima and Takamatsu with the cooperation of the KMTC and Pan Continental, and continue to operate the 404 TEU "Tong Xin Quan", 446 TEU "Sky Love" and the 342 TEU "Sky Duke" in Korea and Japan trades.
CK Line started the first Inchon / Osaka and Kobe trade on October 1, 2000 and expanded its Japanese services to Tokyo, Yokohama and Nagoya from Inchon on December 15 the same year, having recognized the importance of utilizing Inchon before the other liners.
It succeeded in swaying to shippers to recognize the benefits offered by Inchon, and proceeded to call there before other liners. It asserted that shippers in metropolitan areas might save between 200,000 and 300,000 won in logistic costs by using the Port of Inchon rather than Pusan. Through CK's strategic efforts to reduce costs, container cargoes through Inchon have maintained their volume in spite of the general downturn in cargoes.
CK Line contracted chartered space with the KMTC in Pusan / Niigata and Tomakomai since last October.
Meanwhile, CK Line also has been operating a container service in Moji with Jangyoung shipping, a company gone bankrupt. After Janyoung went bankrupt June 25, CK operated the Moji service alone with two vessels in the trade.
It changed vessels to the 138 TEU 'Chunhakho' and the 104 TEU 'Allex', without incurring any scheduling disruptions.
