OOCL inaugurates Super Panamax sized containership
OOCL, headquartered in Hong Kong, will hold an inauguration ceremony October 26 for its Post Panamax sized vessel, the "OOCL Korea", in the Pusan East Container Terminal.
The "OOCL Korea" was delivered to the German ship owner, the Offen Corporation, after completion by Samsung Heavy Industries in September this year. It measures 65,300 dwt (dead weight tons) and is 277 meters long by 10 meters wide. It sails at a cruising speed of 25 knots with a total capacity of 5,600 TEU. OOCL contracted to charter the vessel for a long-term period.
The new vessel will be deployed in the Grand Alliance's loop B trade route, which calls at Pusan, Kaohisung, HongKong, Singapore, the Port of Kelang, Le Havre, South Hampton, Bremenhaven, and Antwerp.
