ASA scoops award in Australia
At the Australian 2001 Shipping & Transport Awards Dinner in Sydney, the ASA consortium, which maintains a regular weekly service linking Singapore and Australia, was the winner of the Southeast Asia award for schedule reliability.
The ASA consortium, of which Lloyd Triestino (LT) is a founding member, operates four ships on this service round-tripping in 28 days with the following port rotation:
Singapore - Brisbane - Sydney - Melbourne - Singapore.
The Awards Evening was organised by Lloyd's List DCN and sponsored by Sydney Ports Corp. The Southeast Asia awards section was sponsored by Fremantle Port Authority.
According to Mr Bronson C C Hsieh, Managing Director of Lloyd Triestino, the award is particularly significant in that this service is a key part of LT's global operations:
"Our container services between North Europe, the Mediterranean, the Indian Sub Continent, Southeast Asia and Australia tranship over Singapore. The reliability of the ASA service is of paramount importance if we are to satisfy our customers. This independent recognition of the quality of our service is therefore very pleasing."
