WTSA introduces minimum rates on waste paper
On October 23, the Westbound Transpacific Stabilization Agreement (WTSA) issued a press release announcing the intention of member sipping lines to establish minimum rates for wastepaper moving in the trade lane from the U.S to Asia. Details are outlined below:
It will take effective on December 1, 2001.
Waste paper cargoes to Pusan (Inchon) from US West Coast will be 325 dollars (425 dollars), And Via US East coast cargoes to Pusan (Inchon) will be 675 dollars (775 dollars).
Minimum rates is applicable to port cargo only. And minimum rates will be effective for 90 days and subject to further increase on March 1, 2001.
