According to its “2002 business plan” released by Korea Express, on January 3, 2002, its 1 trillion won sales goal is a 5% increase over 960 billion won in 2000. This is close to its record 1.0026 trillion won in 1999, the largest amount since it was founded.
It will invest 55.1 billion won including 14.2 billion won in the express services business, 22.6 billion won in moving facilities, 9.6 billion won in port facilities, and 5.7 billion won in IT upgrades. Korea Express plans to put 2.5 billion won into the Taejon Hub Terminal and 600 billion won into PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) solutions business.
While trying to maximize competitiveness, Korea Express will focus on high efficiency and cost savings based on concerted efforts, substantial management, and knowledge management. The company expects to surpass its sales goals sometime in the second half this year, escaping from the general economic downturn.
