Maersk Sealand adds another dimesion to the Australasian overage
Following a successful implementation of the Oceania service linking Australia and New Zealand with North and South America in September last year, Maersk Sealand will effective early February add Brisbane to the New Zealand/Tanjung Pelepas string.
This will facilitate highly competitive transit times from East Australia to South East Asia, Middle East, Europe and Africa using the global hub in Tanjung Pelepas. Cargo from New Zealand to Japan and Korea will transship to the East Australia service in Brisbane offering significantly improved transit times for the New Zealand exporters to those markets.
The above will allow for a wider coverage using the existing services of Maersk Sealand in the region as well as the global network without adding capacity. First call in Brisbane will be "Nora Maersk" calling Brisbane on the 5th February.
