Ulsan demurrage down

Ulsan Port decreased demurrage in May as compared with the same period of last year.

According to Ulsan Regional Maritime Affaires & Fisheries Office, 62 vessels called at the port but couldn't come alongside the berth in May, so the demurrage percentage for Ulsan Port recorded 6.1%, a 22% decrease as compared with the same month of last year. The average demurrage time recorded 33.7 hours, down 28% from last year.

But, demurrage increased by 3.5% over the previous month of this year because callings of ocean-going ships increased by 10% as import and export cargoes increased by 12.7%. By cargo item, port demurrage was for chemicals, coal and fertilizers bound for North Korea.
