CMA CGM Group keen on container shipping development in Ivory Coast
During a recent business trip to the Ivory Coast, Rodolphe Saadé, CMA CGM Executive Officer and Chairman of Delmas, its subsidiary specialized in Africa, has indicated his interest to accompany the port development in this country.
CMA CGM Group is the top container shipping company in the Ivory Coast and has more than 100 employees in 2 agencies: Abidjan since 2006 and San Pedro since the end of 2011.
The CMA CGM Group and its Delmas subsidiary offer to their Ivory Coast customers direct weekly connections to and from Asia, Northern Europe, and the western Mediterranean, and bimonthly connections to and from India and the Middle East.
Rodolphe Saadé stated, "The Ivory Coast is a major market for the CMA CGM Group and its Delmas subsidiary. The delays in making the necessary improvements to the infrastructures over the last ten years will be compensated by an ambitious investment policy. Abidjan could then become a regional hub for container transport. We are ready to accompany this development".
The CMA CGM Group announced its interest to participate, via a consortium, in the tender for the second container terminal of Abidjan planned for 2016. < Korea Shipping Gazette >
