YM to launch CAT service

Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp. (YM) announced it will launch its CAT service (China-Australia-Taiwan service) effective from June 7th, 2013.

The service is jointly provided by YM, EMC (Evergreen Lines), PIL (Pacific International Lines), and SNL (Sinotrans Container Lines) with a total of 6 x 4,250 TEU container vessels.

The ports-of-call order is Ningbo-Shanghai-Shekou-Kaohsiung-Sydney-Melbourne-Brisbane-Kaohsiung-Ningbo, and the round voyage is 42 days.

With this new service, Yang Ming will increase its service frequency between the Far East- and Australian ports to two sailings per week. This will strengthen YM`s offerings in the Australian market.
