Inchon Port Authority to introduce in the cloud this year

The Inchon Port Authority, which has been pushing for launch in the second half of this year, seems hardly to say to introduce in this year.

The Maritime Affairs and Fisheries minister, Cheong Woo-taek, suggested on May 11 that the introduction of the Port Authority system in the Port of Inchon might be delayed as was scheduled in the press conference held in Inchon Regional Maritime Affairs and Fisheries. The minister disclosed that if a single port authority operates the port, it requires that the port have strong financial fundamentals to prevent insolvency. The Port of Inchon still needs continuous government supply because of its rather weak profitability, compared to the Port of Pusan, he added.

The minister also revealed "We will file a bill in congress this July under the basic principle that the Port Authority system will be introduced simultaneously in the Port of Pusan and Inchon. However, if introducing the Port Authority system later benefits the Port of Inchon, we will considerate postponing it, he said.
